Senior Vice President, Head of Research

Aron is Senior Vice President, Head of Research at Chroma Medicine. He also serves as an advisor to Atlas Venture and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and as a Scientific Advisory Board member for the Keystone Symposia. Prior to joining Chroma, Aron was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Third Rock Ventures, where he focused on ideation and new company creation. Previously, he spent 11 years at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where he established the “3D biology” group in the Developmental and Molecular Pathways Department, led the Regenerative Medicine and Microbiome groups in the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics Department, and ultimately co-led the Respiratory Diseases Therapeutic Area. Aron has a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and did his postdoctoral training at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology at University College London and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
