
Gary Vanasse, M.D.
Senior Vice President, Translational Medicine & Clinical Development
Gary is Senior Vice President, Translational Medicine and Clinical Development at Chroma Medicine. Previously, he was Chief Medical Officer at Obsidian Therapeutics where he led clinical development efforts for their engineered cell and gene therapies. Before Obsidian, Gary was the Therapeutic Area Head for Hematologic Malignancies in Translational Clinical Oncology at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, Inc., where he oversaw development of small molecule inhibitors, biologics, and cell therapies for patients with blood cancers. Prior to industry, Gary was Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Hematology Divisions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Yale School of Medicine. Gary received his M.D. from Georgetown University and performed his Hematology fellowship training at the University of Washington.
